This is a top-of-the-line double-tone harmonica model produced under the supervision of Shigeaki Iwasaki, Japan's leading expert on double-tone harmonicas. The lead uses Tombow's unique combination of materials. For each pitch of each tone, we use our many years of experience to create the most suitable design. Tuning and adjustment will be performed by a skilled craftsman certified by Mr. Iwasaki.
Body: Wooden body (domestic maple wood)
The tremolo is tuned sparingly to allow for classical and emotional expression while maintaining the beautiful tone unique to a double-note harmonica. With the use of a microphone in mind, the agemi (curvature of the reed) has been adjusted low to express beautiful pianissimo, and it responds even with weak breaths, making it easy to play fast passages.
For the cover, Mr. Iwasaki selected the shape that would be easiest to play on, and the material was made of brass, which was most suitable for producing a soft tone, and was plated with nickel and chrome. The overall thinness makes it easy for even women to blow.
