Woody Joe 1/150 Nagoya Castle Wooden Model Assembly Kit
Nagoya Castle, characterized by its white plaster exterior and copper-tiled roofs, is a Sengoku to Edo period castle located in the Honmaru citadel of Naka Ward, Aichi Prefecture, in Owari Province.
It was also nicknamed "Kinshachi Castle" (Golden Shachi) or "Golden Castle" (Golden Castle) due to the golden shachihoko (lion-shaped carp) atop the main tower.
It has five roofs, five floors above ground and one below ground, and is an "early multi-tiered tower-style castle" without the large, gabled roof below, a style that was considered new at the time.
The south side alone boasts a total of seven chidorihafu (chorion gables), irimoyahafu (hip-and-gabled gables), and karahafu (karahafu), making it the largest wooden building in history.
