Product Introduction
Commissioned in August 1942 as the fourth South Dakota-class battleship, Alabama initially served in the Atlantic before shifting to the Pacific, where she primarily supported landing operations.
She participated in the 1944 Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and conducted the Okinawa invasion and preliminary landing operations on the Japanese mainland before the end of the war.
After being decommissioned in 1962, she is now on display in Mobile, Alabama.
