Product Introduction
iLoveKit 1/35 scale US Army M53 155mm Self-Propelled Gun plastic model kit.
The M53 155mm Self-Propelled Gun was developed in the United States and produced from 1952.
This vehicle utilized components from the Patton tank series to reduce development time and costs, and was designed to share the same chassis and gun mount as the M55 8-inch Self-Propelled Howitzer to further reduce procurement and operating costs.
In 1956, the US Army decided to convert all of its M53s to M55s, but the US Marine Corps continued to operate the M53.
This vehicle was retired from the US Army and Marine Corps in the early 1960s but was donated to NATO member states such as West Germany, Belgium, and Italy.
