This is a SEMAR "1/72 Scale Soviet Polikarpov Po-2 Night Raid/Reconnaissance Aircraft" plastic model kit.
This was the first trainer aircraft developed by the Soviet Union after the revolution and began mass production in 1928.
Its unparalleled stability made it a valuable pilot trainer for the newly formed Soviet Army.
Its stability was also highly valued, leading to its versatile use in both military and civilian settings.
As a result, a huge number of these aircraft were produced.
Although it was considered obsolete by the time of World War II, its short takeoff and landing capabilities and slow cruising speed were put to good use, allowing it to be used throughout the war for liaison transport to guerrilla units and night raids, even into the Korean War.
