Seto ware is the collective name for ceramics produced in and around Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. It's a representative form of Japanese pottery with over a thousand years of history and tradition. It's known as one of the Six Ancient Kilns, along with Tokoname, Shigaraki, Echizen, Tamba, and Bizen. Kiseto (also known as kizeto) is an iron glaze developed during the Momoyama period. It produces a refined, warm yellow color. Because the style varies greatly depending on the kiln and flame conditions, each piece has a unique texture.
