In the early 1980s, Brian Eno invented an effect called "Shimmer," which became popular for use in songs such as U2's "Unforgettable Fire" (1984). This effect was a mix of an octave effect on ambient reverb and reverb decay. The 3 Series Octave Reverb puts JHS's spin on this classic effect that's been around for decades, allowing you to create pads and textures with your guitar to fill your ambient space. Switching the toggle switch to the up position produces an upper octave sound, and switching the toggle switch to the down position produces a low octave sound.
