The fabric alone has a UV cut rate of over 99.9% and a shading rate of 100%. However, the official name and the tag attached to the actual product state that it is made of "Class 1 shading fabric" in accordance with the JUPA standards of the Japan Western Umbrella Promotion Council.
The product is marked "For use in rainy weather, UV cut rate of 99% or more, shading rate of 99.99% or more". The shading rate of the fabric is 100%, but since it is made into an umbrella, light may penetrate through the seams made by machine sewing. *Many vendors sell parasols made of fabric with a shading rate of 100% with the words "complete shading". We also use the words "complete shading" on our web page, but we do not use the words "complete shading" on the official name or the tag attached to the actual product. *The fabric is water-repellent, so it can be used on rainy days.
